Dimapur, November 19: Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School on Tuesday celebrated Parents Day here at its Premise at Zakiesato Colony, Dimapur in the midst of colourful cultural performances, songs, and a skit.
Dr. Vicky Khataria, one of the guests during the celebration asked the parents to not push their children but instead let them be what they want themselves to be.
Khataria, a former student of the school, also expressed his happiness at being present in the school during the ceremony.
Sivi Zakiesato, wife of late Kevi Zakiesato, in her speech asked the students to inspire their parents with their bright future.
Earlier, speaking on behalf of the management, Joyson Shimray, Co-ordinator of the school states that Parents day is one of the most important days for the school as unlike students, it is only once in a year that the teachers and management is able to interact with the parents.
He also said that the school or parents alone cannot provide all that is needed for the future of a child, and they both are simultaneously required, and this makes Parents Day a necessity.
Speaking on behalf of the parents, Tokito Assumi said that it is with the parents that the children spends most of their days, and it is not right to expect the children to learn everything from the teachers, and therefore urged the parents to be “one of the two hands” that is required to make a clap.
During the observation, a skit was also performed highlighting the ill-effects of consuming tobacco. (Page News Service)
