
DIMAPUR, MARCH 17: Minister of Public Health Engineering (PHED) Jacob Zhimomi commissioned augmentation of water supply to 5 villages in Japukong range at Yajang ‘C’ village in the presence of Minister of Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along and Advisor, Kazheto Kinimi on March 16.
The minister, while lauding all those involved in the successful completion of the project, said that the central government was committed to providing safe and adequate water supply through individual household tap connection (FHTC) or easily accessible public fountain in all villages of the State in phase manner.
Zhimomi also stated that the department is currently implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme in phase manner and called upon the people for their active participation and cooperation for the success of any developmental activity.
It may be noted that the project augmentation of water supply scheme through water source to 5 villages in Japukong range, funded by NEC, was started in 2014 and completed during 2020. The project cost amounting to Rs 4.84 crore was implemented to provide water supply to Yajang ‘A’, Yajang ‘C’, Irmen, Akumen and Tsuremen village.
