Zhadima Village celebrates 25 years of recognition


Kohima, April 2: Zhadima Village in Northern Angami-II are of Kohima district today celebrated its 25-years of recognition by the government. The celebration was held at Zhadima Sports Complex with Head GB Mezhükieo invoking the traditional blessing and Rev Dr T R Angami unveiling the recognition jubilee monolith.
Zhadima village was recognized by the State government on this day in 1993. Zhadima was earlier located at Thephegei (present Raj Bhavan) but founded at the present village site around 1528 AD, states a booklet “History of Zhadima village” published by the History Committee of the Village.
Marking the celebration aimed at passing on the culture and tradition to the younger generation, the eight khels of the village participated in showcasing the rich traditional practiced farming method carried out the village along with the different forms of signing during each stage clearing of the field to post harvest.
They also presented the war dance.
Chairman Zhadima Village Council, Kesovilhou Chüpuo chaired the programme wherein Zhadima VDB Secretary Roko Angami delivered the welcome address. Ex-VDB secretary Peter Kuotsu shared greetings on the occasion while the history of the village was shared by Angami Public Organisation vice president K T Vilie Theünuo and Northern Angami Public Organisation president Neiyalie Pfüsenuo.
