Zeliangrong orgs threatens  24-hr bandh

Dimapur, August 12: The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), the Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU) have threatened to launch 24-hours bandh from midnight of August 15 within its jurisdiction as its first phase of agitation if the Government of India and the Government of Manipur fails to book cadres of NSCN (IM) involved in the abduction of Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Students leaders on August 4 last.
The three organizations informed that this was decided in a joint meeting. The bandh will cover movement of all transport vehicles on National Highway 37, District Highway and all national projects within the jurisdiction of Zeliangrong areas, it informed in a joint release.
The release informed all frontal organisations of the Zeliangrong and general public to enforce the 24-hour bandh. Schools, Government offices, business activities, religions, medical/health, water supply, electricity have been exempted from the purview of the bandh. Any party/individual who violates the bandh will be at his/her own risk, it warned. (Page News Service)
