ZCOs alleges distortion of Naga history in NSCN (IM) calendar

Dimapur, December 1: The Zeliangrong Civil Organizations (ZCOs) has condemned NSCN (IM) for bringing out the ‘Nagalim Calendar 2020’ with distorted history of Naga political journey by ignoring Haipou Jadonang’s supreme sacrifice.
“No one can deny “Haipou Jadonang” was the founder and pioneer of the Naga political movement for which the mighty British administration had given him the title “Naga Raj”, it said in a press release.
Claiming that Haipou Jadonang supreme sacrifice for the Naga cause and for his people to secure a better future and the political movement which had been continuing for decades with maximum participation, involvement and immense contribution by the Zeliangrong people was the impetus for NSCN (IM) to have gained massive support and popularity once upon a time in the past, the ZCO said the moment the NSCN (IM) attempted to conceal the facts and dishonoring the supreme sacrifice of Haipou Jadonang resulted in failure for NSCN (IM)to command the Naga people socially and politically. “Hence the NSCN (IM) has now resorted to selling of calendar with distorting the genuine Naga political history with desperate attempt to gain some popularity and to earn some profit in the name of Naga political journey which is quite cheap and ridiculous,” it said.
Urging the Naga people not to allow such “distortion of the sacred Naga political history by irresponsible people” but show political maturity by rejecting the distortion for the sake of passing down the true and genuine history to upcoming generation, the ZCOs appealed to all people, particularly the Zeliangrong people, to be cautious and not to fall victims to such “falsehood manufactured by irresponsible people”. “Whoever respect and honour the supreme sacrifice of Haipou Jadonang and value the sacred Naga political history should not purchase/buy the so called “Nagalim Calendar 2020″of NSCN (IM),” it said, adding it is the collective responsibility of leaders of the churches, women’s societies, religious leaders, village leaders, youths, students and general public to reject such distortion of the sacred Naga political history.
