Dimapur, July 29: The District Administration Zunheboto conducted joint inspection of pharmacy stores with the Police and Medical Department on July 26 and apprehended some defaulters engaged in sale of restricted drugs like Codeine Phosphole containing cough syrup and tramadole capsule.
Cases have been registered under NDPS Act 1985 against the defaulters while some Pharmacies have also been sealed.
Shanavas. (IAS), DC, Zunheboto said drug abuse is a serious bane afflicting the young of Nagaland. He said besides severe health impact, it impedes the productivity of a section that matters the most- the youth and urged everyone to join hands against this menace.
The seized items along with the accused have been forwarded to the court for further necessary action. (Page News Service)
