YTC constructs 14 km road

Dimapur, February 7: A total length of 14 KMs road between Huhdangrü village to Shiponger Orange Project road has been constructed with the initiative of the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) and with various forms of contributions extended by the community.


The road was constructed with focus on connecting the Huhdangrü Village and Head quarter Shamator since there was no motorable road between these regions, and also keeping in mind the importance of relation and increase people to people with neighbouring villages, and notwithstanding that road makes a crucial contribution to economic development and growth of a society.
In a press release, YTC President, Throngso Yimchunger stated that the construction began on September 3, 2019, and the same was completed on January 25, 2021. The road construction was executed solely with the community contribution without any assistance from government or with any governmental schemes.
The YTC thanked DIG 7th Sector, Assam Rifles Tuensang & Commandant 45 Assam Rifles Shamator Bn for allocating of Machinery (JCB) for 7 months during the construction of Road.
The newly constructed road was inaugurated on January 27, 2021 by Toshi Wongtung, Advisor IPR, SCERT & VG in the presence of YTC Officials; ADC Shamator; Engineer PWD R&B, Tuensang; SDO R&B Shamator; and Executive Secretary YBBA; Village Council of Huhdangerü and Shiponger and other government officials.
