Dimapur, June 22: Along with the rest of the country, International Yoga Day under the theme ‘Yoga for Peace’ was celebrated in Dimapur at Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. The programme was organized by FOB, Tuensang, Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with PVHSS.
In his keynote address, Manoj Bhattacharjee, PVHSS Principal highlighted on the significance of the day. He said that Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.
Sajal Roy, Yoga instructor, gave a demonstration on the various yoga posture (Asanas). He also guided the gathering in performing various yoga postures.
During the programme students from different groups and classes also performed different yoga postures (Assanas).
A quiz competition on the topic of Yoga was also conducted to mark the occasion. (Page News Service)
