DIMAPUR, MARCH 14: A Health and Wellness Centre at Yimpang (S/C) was inaugurated by the Chief Medical Officer of Tuensang, Dr. I Moatemjen Jamir on March 11.
Subsequently, health camps were also conducted at Yimpang village, Waoshu village and Taknyu village respectively.
The health camp was organized in collaboration with the district administration of Tuensang under the banner “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” especially targeting women’s health and well-being. Three medical teams from CMO Tuensang comprising medical officers, nurses, lab-tech, pharmacist and staff from various vertical programmes such as NTEP, DAPCU, IDSP, RCH, DVBDCP, RBSK and MMU were deputed for the health camps.
The Sakhi One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra Tuensang also joined in the venture to create awareness on women’s welfare scheme and helped the women open bank accounts and Aadhaar card enrolment in order to enable them to avail schemes such as maternity benefits and other welfare schemes that require bank account.
