Wokha, December 30: Wokha Village Government Employees’ Union (WVGEU) on Tuesday celebrated silver jubilee at Wokha Village Baptist Church multipurpose building on the theme ‘Progress with technology’.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chumben Murry, MLA greeted the gathering that 2021 will be a year of blessings for the people of Wokha village stating that year 2020 was a harsh time that seized all normal activities.
Murry was once a president of WVGEU (2005-2007) during his service as medical doctor, and later joined politics. He said the pandemic has taught us much where students went on to attend online classes through use of technology and it is the best example that we all encountered.
He said in near future all office papers works in all Government establishments will become paperless due to advancement of technology and to help save the environment.
He urged the union to set a vision through the celebration and bring significant change focusing more on human resources as the present generation is moving fast.
Earlier in the day, Murry unveiled the jubilee monolith, unfurled the union flag and released the union silver jubilee magazine. Monolith dedication prayer was done by Rev. O. Thungben Kikon, pastor, WVBC.
