Dimapur, June 7: The Western Sümi Youth Front led by President Mughavi Awomi and General Secretary Bohoi Yeptho visited Niuland CHC, Kuhuboto PHC and Nihokhu Sub centre today and assured them support on the problems faced by health centres.
Mughavi said people from these areas, despite having free health care facilities, move to Dimapur city, spending lots of money. He called upon the leaders to sensitize the mass to avail the facility in the area. Instead of using the free facilities in our own home and strengthening these facilities many are doing the opposite, said the President.
WSYF taking the initiative of distributing essential health care goods, i.e. masks, hand sanitizers and some medicines in its capability is trying to create awareness among people to utilize the facilities that they have through this gesture.
GS Bohoi Yeptho said WSYF through this initiative conveys a strong message to all as to that “why run for some luxury health care facilities when we can avail these facilities free of cost in our own home”.
He further urged the people to utilize these free facilities to strengthen the CHCs/PHCs and help ourselves in the meantime.
The in-charge of the health care facilities apprised the team about the problems faced by the CHC, PHC and Sub-Centre, such as lack of oxygen, infrastructure, ambulance etc. Niuland MO in-charge apprised the team about the shortage of staff and doctors in the CHC.
The visiting team distributed health care goods such as, hand sanitizers, medicines, PPE kits, Face Masks, Hand gloves etc, to the CHC Niuland, PHC Kuhuboto, Nihokhu Sub-Centre and also to Aghunaqa area health sub-centers and assured the facilities of their support. (Page News Service)
