World Physiotherapy Day observed

Dimapur, September 8: Along with other parts of the world, World Physiotherapy Day was today celebrated in Dimapur here at the premise of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School. The programme was organized by Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, CMO Dimapur said that physiotherapists are those people who keep the functioning of bodies normal and asked the physiotherapists to continue their work without getting discouraged due to lack of employment and they can always reach him with their grievances so that he can highlight them.
He also asked them to be aware of the new wellness centre that is soon going to be established in the state.
Editor of Nagaland Post Geoffrey Yaden, who also spoke on the programme, suggested that the physiotherapists should come up with some ideas to go from place to place in the middle of people and serve them.
He accused the modern easy and comfortable lifestyle for the bodily issues and said that physiotherapists are needed not only after the body becomes sick but to keep it fit too before diseases strike.
He asked them to temporarily take up the task of organizing camps from time to time in Dimapur before something permanent can be built.
World Physical Therapy Day falls on 8th September every year, and is an opportunity for physical therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution their profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent. (Page News Service)
