Dimapur, April 27: Dimapur District National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) observed World Malaria Day 2021 along with the rest of the world on April 25 under the theme “Reaching zero malaria target”. The occasion was marked by conducting a weeklong activities such as awareness programmes, mass screening, and LLIN fortnight survey by the MTS and NVBDCP staffs in all villages under Dimapur District.
Dr Imtiwabong, DVBO advised the beneficiaries to used LLIN daily, and urged them to organize sanitation drive regularly in their respective villages. He stated that the best way to curb vector borne diseases is to reduce mosquito breeding grounds, which can be done by filling up ditches and other unwanted water collection sites in and around the locality.
He also appreciated the representatives of the village authorities; the village council members, church leaders and youth leaders for participating as well as for their support during the programme. (Page News Service)
