World Malaria Day observed at Changtongya.

Dimapur, April 26: World Malaria Day was observed at Dobashi Court in Changtongya town on April 26, on the theme “Reaching the Zero Malaria Target”.
Medical Officer at CHC Changtongya, Dr. Imtimongba highlighted how malaria is spread and how it can be prevented. He encouraged the gathering to use mosquito repellent and LLIM mosquito net regularly.

He urged everyone to keep their surrounding clean and to remove all stagnant water, which invites mosquito breeding.
Short speeches were also delivered by SDO (C) Changtongya, Rorheu Peseyie and by All Ward Chairman Changtongya, Putinungba Jamir.
In Tuli, it was observed at Community Health Centre. Resource person, Medical Officer at CHC Tuli, Dr. Joshua elaborated on the significance of World Malaria Day. He encouraged everyone to spread awareness on malaria at their respective communities.
NVBDCP Peren District observed World Malaria Day on April 25. Dr. Hedungkiebe, District Vector Borne Officer, stated that LLIN fortnight house-to-house visits were conducted all over the district two weeks ahead of World Malaria Day.
He also stated that it culminated on April 25 with an awareness programme on malaria in selected villages of each block i.e., Samzuiram, Nkialwa, Songluh and Peletkie.
