World Health Day observed


Dimapur, April 7: Along with the rest of the world, Health Day was observed today at Gukhanyu Village organized jointly by Nagaland Health Project (NHP) and FPAI India Nagaland Branch.
In WHO’s 70th anniversary year, World Health Day focused on “Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere” – ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship.
Keduokhrietuo Sachu, District facilitator NHP, talked on the significance of World Health Day. He mentioned that it is celebrated to remember the establishment of the World health Organization as well as draw the attention of people towards the major health issues in the world.
Ville Rhetso, Counsellor, FPA India Nagaland Branch sensitized the participants on the importance and benefits of family planning for healthy family.
He emphasized on the importance of menstrual hygiene management and timely health seeking behaviour and also highlighted about the organization work and services to the community.
Later, Aoyangla Imchen, counselor mobile ICTC, DAPCU Kohima under NSACS briefed on HIV/AIDS, mode of transmission and discrimination against PHLIV. After the session FPA India and DAPCU provided laboratory services such as VCT: HIV, Hepatitis B & C including blood grouping to the villagers. Besides, FPA India provided counseling on Reproductive health and family planning services.
