Dimapur, June 13: Together with the world, the Kohima Kangtsung Senso Telongjem, Dimapur Kangtsung Senso Telongjem, Kangtsung Senso Telongjem Tuli, Kangtsung Senso Telongjem Tzudikong, Kangtsung Senso Telongjem Mokokchung & Kangtsung Senso Telongjem observes ‘World Environment Day’ on June 11 at Kangtsung Village in collaboration with Kangtsung Reongsanger Putu Menden, Kangtsung Baptist Church, Lanu Mapang.
The Tree Plantation Drive started with a mass prayer which was lead by the Kangtsung Baptist Church Pastor Mr. Nungsangtoshi.
The first tree sapling was jointly planted by the Presidents of Kohima Kangtsung Senso Telongjem, Dimapur Kangtsung Senso Telongjem, Kangtsung Senso Telongjem Tuli, Kangtsung Senso Telongjem Tzudikong and the Chairman of Kangtsung Village Council.
This noble initiative was aimed to save the endangered environment and to restore native forests as well as in commemoration of 100 years of Christianity in Kangtsung in coming 2025. More than 1500 saplings of different varieties were planted along the road side starting from Sentimeren Memorial Tower to Kangtsung Village gate.
The locals expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciated the efforts of different units of Kangtsung for standing together to protect the environment and to safeguard the future generation. (Page News Service)
