World Day Against Human Trafficking organised at Medziphema

Dimapur, July 31: The Ghaspani Battalion of 7 Assam Rifles organised an awareness drive on the occasion of ‘World Day Against Human Trafficking’ at Medziphema Town, Dimapur.


As part of the programme, lecture-cum-discussion session was organised in the field of Human Trafficking with experts from State Police Department as well as the NGOs & CSOs.
Relo Aye, ADCP (Crime) Dimapur, apprised the participants about the anti-social nexus involved in Human Trafficking as well as the preventive measures to be taken by all members of the society.
He advised people to always memorise one or two phone numbers so that in case of any eventuality, help can be sought immediately.
Kilentola Jamir, Holistic Counsellor, deliberated on the topic “Victims’ Voices Lead the Way”.
Other counsellors of the day also disclosed that State Helpline number for women is 181 while for children below 18 years is 1089, which are ready to provide assistance 24×7 anywhere in Nagaland.


The event was organised in collaboration with Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK) and was attended by about 70 leaders from Medziphema Town, Gaon Buras, women, youth and student organisations.
