Workshop on violence against women held at DGC

Dimapur, January 21: A workshop on violence against women and children was jointly organised by the Department of Psychology, DGC, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DGC and State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) at Dimapur Govt. College on January 19.
Resource persons Weri-u Mero, Centre Administrator of ‘Sakhi – One Stop Centre’ spoke on the topic “Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Women Helpline -181, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)”; Bovili K. Chishi, a case worker spoke on “Psychological Support for the women affected by violence with the ethical guidelines of counselling” and Zuchumpeni Ngullie, panel lawyer, Dimapur District Legal Services Authority spoke on “Trafficking.”
A play on forms of violence was enacted by the students of the college. The workshop was chaired by Lhipe Naro, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, DGC and Puli Chishi, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, DGC.
