Workshop on experiential marketing held


Dimapur, May 12: ‘Experiential Marketing,’ the first such workshop and training on event planning and management in the State, was held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma on Thursday, with resource persons, founder and Director- The Ignite Enterprise (Ignite Infotainment Pvt. Ltd.), Shaju I. Ignatius.
One of the pioneers in event managements in India, Ignatius shared about the initial stages of event planning in the country and also how the ‘power of experience’ has given rise to experiential marketing. He stated that “event management is a creative combination of arts, science and commerce,” it is as professional and large as any of these fields and added that it is the art of ideation and creativity.
In the workshop, the trainees were trained on the importance of event management and preparation that goes into the successful conduct of global events such as the Olympic games, FIFA World cup, Oscars, IPL, Kumbh mela etc. Ignatius said that event managers have to be crisis managers because when something goes wrong and how event manager handles it that is what will differentiate between a good and bad event manager.
Project Director, Music Task Force, Hovithal Sothu said the training was organized so that events of music, tourism industry and also social events in the state could be more well managed and organized.
The two day workshop on experiential marketing was organized by the Ministry of Youth Resources & Sports.
