Workshop on biodiversity conservation concludes

Dimapur, November 23: The 2nd day Awareness Workshop on ” Biodiversity Conservation: Issues & Challenges” was held at GHS Sungro under Sanis Sub-Division, Wokha.Smti. Zuthunglo Patton, IFS, DFO Wokha in her foreword encouraged the participants to be responsible and bring about change to make a better place for our Environment & Biodiversity. The Resource persons for the workshop were LansothungLotha, FR and Dr. David Baite, Scientist BSI, Several issues on the topic were discussed along with powerpoint presentations, quizzes and Poster Presentation by the BSI Team followed by Documentary.
Dr.N.Odyuo, Scientist D, BSI addressed the young participants of the schoolto be informed and adapt to a lifestyle for overall wellbeing of biodiversity even for the generations to come and urgedthe students to adopt a tree each and distributed tree saplings to all the participants. The program was chaired by Vivika A Sema, FR.
The workshop was funded by the Botanical Survey of India under the aegis of the National Mission on Himalayan Studies Project and was organized by Wokha Forest Division.
