Workshop on accounting, auditing & taxation begins at Medziphema


Dimapur, May 20: A workshop on accounting, auditing and taxation is underway at CTC Medziphema from May 20 to 24 organised by the Department of Cooperation.
At the inaugural program, Under Secretary of Cooperation, Wacy Kent said that Cooperative awareness and sensitisation should be taken up so as to educate and impart trainings to the people at the grassroots and to have a meaningful impact in the lives of rural populace. He was hopeful that such initiatives would bring positive results in the process of promoting Cooperative Movement in the state.
The keynote address was delivered by Finance Trainer, National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), New Delhi, Anurag Dang, and short exhortation was delivered by Addl. RCS, Bendangla Longkumer.
The subjects undertaken during workshop were: to equip participants with the necessary skills required to prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, to enable participants to effectively prepare and interpret financial statements, to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of relevant provisions of the Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 as applicable to the state of Nagaland, to equip participants with the necessary skills required to conduct audits of Cooperative Societies and to enhance participants auditing skills by providing insights into legal provisions governing audits, audit classification of societies using CAMELS rating, audit reporting etc.
Altogether 63 ICS, SRCS and ARCS are attended the workshop.
