Workshop of ‘Angikaar’ held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 16: Dimapur Municipal Council organized a city level Workshop on “Angikaar- A Campaign for Change Management” under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Housing for all (Urban) at Hotel Silhouette, Near DMC Office Kalibari Road today.
Speaking on the occasion MIS Specialist PMAY- HFA (U), Dimapur In-charge, Longshithung Mozhui deliberated at length on the Concept ‘Angikaar- A campaign for change management’ which is a three months campaign for social behavior change focusing on creating awareness on best practices in water and energy conservation, waste management, health, sanitation and hygiene for beneficiaries of PMAY (U).
He said this will be done through community mobilization, convergence and a series of activities and further added that for this campaign the mission will partner with states / UTS/ ULBs, Community Resource persons, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Educational institutions, etc and henceforth may be referred as angikaar Resources Persons (ARPs).
He stressed on the PMAY (U) Mission which he says is essential to learn and adopt the Gandhian thoughts on cleanliness, Hygiene and sanitation for which purpose it is converging and creating awareness on the best practices of various urban missions and other central Ministries.
Longshithung Mozhui said, “By adopting these practices, PMAY (U) beneficiaries will not only get acclimatized to the new environment, but they will also learn to maintain infrastructure, amenities and basic services” and further added that the programme will continue till December 9th and on the 10th awards will be presented to many beneficiaries for adopting these practices.
He urged the gatherings to at least plant minimum five plants at their backyard, to use LED light bulbs. He said, “We should try to use energy efficient products, conserve water and natural resources, to remain healthy by regularly cleaning the house and the compounds clean and also to prevail on others to remain clean and fit”.
He urged all colony Chairmen and GBS present on the occasion to extend cooperation and support for a vibrant and a clean India.
The welcome address was delivered by MIS Specialist PMAY- HFA (U) Rohit Yadav and it was attended by large numbers of colony chairman, GBS and members from the civil societies.
Superintendent, Dimapur Municipal Council, Ganesh Sharma extended his gratefulness to all the participants who attended the programme which will be beneficial to all. The vote of thanks was delivered by Civil Engineer PMAY- HFA (U) Er. Koktiba Pongner.
