Workshop for DBs, GBs held at Wokha

Dimapur, July 14: Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) in collaboration with District administration organized a one day workshop for DBs, GBs and village councils on July 12 in the DC’s conference hall, Wokha.
ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao while addressing the participants on the role and responsibilities of DBs, GBs and Village Councils, said their roles and responsibilities are enormous and at the same time powerful and urged them to exercise their assignments with outmost precision for the interest and welfare of the community.
As village council’s members/ functionaries, DBs and GBs acts as internal administration and assist District Administration in maintenance of law and order situation within their respective villages and jurisdiction they should be very responsible in every aspect, said Tsanglao. He added that justice deliverance should not be biased and show effectiveness in their duties as they are considered as the custodian of our customary laws and practices.
Advocate, David Ezung, Panel Lawyer WDLSA spoke on basic procedures of law (CrPC/CPC) procedure provided under rules of administration of justice & police. Advocate, Renbonthung Tsanglao, Panel Lawyer WDLSA dwelled on Lok Adalat and its mechanism while advocate, Meribemo A Lotha, Panel Lawyer WDLSA emphasized on Money Lenders Act and jurisdictional authority.
