Dimapur, May 1: Keeping in line with the Government’s decision to conduct statewide mass social work on May 4, and also in view of pre preparedness for monsoon, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Anoop Khinchi IAS today convened a meeting with all the Government departments in the district at DPDB’s conference hall, Kohima.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration along with some officials from line departments inspected some areas in and around Kohima town and identified some areas which will be focused on the day of the social work. He informed that a control room would be set up for the social work to coordinate with the departments for the conduct of the work. He said that during the social work prior emphasis should be given in clearing all drains/nullahs, culverts and natural waterways for free flow of water. He also asked his administrative officers to coordinate in their respective circle for proper implementation of the social work in their respective areas.
ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa requested the designated departments to clear all the garbage at their respective assigned locations before leaving their locations. She requested the department’s to avoid unnecessary cutting of tree and instead to concentrate in clearing clogged drains.
The meeting decided the following designated locations assigned to various departments for the conduct of social work at Kohima:
NST Garage junction to AG Ward junction/Dzuvuru bridge – E.E. Power as team leader, NST department, EE PHED (Urban), EE PWD (R&B) South, Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts and OC South & staff
Dzuvuru Bridge to PHQ junction – EE PWD (NH) as team leader, EE PWD (R&B) North, Asst. Engineer (CAWD), Soil Conservation and Directorate of Horticulture
PHQ junction to KMC parking (near Old Zoo junction) – District Fishery Officer & staff as team leader, Directorate of Veterinary & AH, District Agriculture Officer & staff and Directorate of Forest, Environment & Climate Change & DFO, Kohima
BSNL Office via CM residence / Speaker residence to Hotel Cimord junction – Labour Department as team leader, Sericulture Department, Directorate of Municipal Affairs and Supply Department (ADS)
PHQ junction to Raj Bhavan – Registrar, Cooperative & Staff as team leader, Tourism Department, Directorate of Agriculture and Directorate of Social Welfare

All departments concerned assigned for specific locations have been requested to arranged vehicles for clearing all waste/garbage in their respective areas on the same day and transport it to KMC dump site at Dzuruzou (towards Pezielietsie road behind Govt. High School ground, which is about 6-7 Kms).
Kiphire: Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, M. Shayung Phom NCS has notified a mass social work will be carried out on May 4 from 7 am to 12 noon.
In this regard the DC informed all HoDs of Government establishments to conduct cleanliness drive within their respective office premises.
The DC also informed all HoOs to take proper attendance of the staff during social work and to report to the office positively. He also asked the HoOs to nominate 3 employees from each department for clearing of Kiphire town dumping site, and asked the nominated persons to report to DC office at 7 am on May 4 to avail the transportation to and fro.
