Women’s senior 1-day trophy: State eves beat Arunachal

Dimapur, February 19: Nagaland defeated Arunachal Pradesh by 8 wickets in the Women’s Senior 1-day Trophy 2019-20 at the CAP Ground 2, Puducherry on Wednesday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for 121 in 49.5 overs, with Nagaland’s Pankul taking 3 wickets. For Arunachal, Nabam top scored with 33.
Chasing the relatively easy target, Nagaland broke now sweats in overhauling the target in 23.1 overs and 8 wickets intact. For Nagaland, Vaincy was unbeaten on 64 whole Nazma contributed 41.
The two Nagaland wickets to fall were taken by Jyoti and Mari.
State U-19 girl beat Meghalaya
In the Women’s Under-19 1-day Trophy 2019-20, Nagaland beat Meghalaya by 90 runs at Kaddapa in Andhra Pradesh.
Batting first after winning the toss, Nagaland were bowled out for 163 in 48.5 overs with Antima to scoring with 59.
For Meghalaya, N Roy took 3 wickets, while Sistilin and Mansi scalped 2 wickets each.
Coming out to bat, Meghalaya’s innings failed to get going and were bowled out for a meager 73 in 22 overs, with Nagaland’s Gunhan being the chief wrecker claiming 4 Meghalaya wickets. Sapna and Swati also took 2 wickets each.
The top scorer for Meghalaya was Deiphi with 17 runs.
