Dimapur, February 20: Women Leadership Training program on “The role of women in peace building” was organized by Peace Channel, Dimapur at Tabernacle Baptist Church Naga United village on February 18 facilitated by Caroline Leisan, Peace Channel Field Co-ordinator along with the Peace Channel Staff. The resource person for the training was Mhabeni Ngullie, General Secretary, Nagamese Baptist Church Association (NBCA). The training program was held with the aim to plant the seed of peace and promote peace-building among women folk. Women from different communities attended the training program.
Caroline further shared the vision and mission of Peace Channel and encouraged all the women to get involved in promoting peace as every individual has a significant role to play in their own family, neighbourhood, church, colony and the society in general. She applauded the women stating that they are very active and energetic with hordes of wisdom and knowledge in promoting peace in the community.
Addressing the participants, Mhabeni assured that such kind of training is encouraged even in the coming days and appraised Peace Channel for conducting such program which a need of the hour in the state of Nagaland.
Apart from input session, a group work was steered among the women where they discussed and shared about the role of women in promoting peace among themselves. Some of the outcome and learning from the training program included creating awareness in promoting peace in the community, peace within oneself, effective communication in building good relationship, seminars and programs for peace building, etc. Altogether 21 women representatives attended the programme.
