Wokha Forest Division distributes tree saplings to security forces

Dimapur, June 8: As part of the national mission to carry out plantation drive along with Armed Forces, Wokha Forest Division distributed over 15,000 saplings on the World Environment Day, to various Armed Forces and the Nagaland Police.


This included the 40 Assam Rifles, DEF Wokha, Home Guards & Civil Defence, 7th NAP, CISF Doyang, Police Outpost Doyang, 7th NAP C COY Changpang, Liphanyan Police Outpost, Police Outpost Chukitong and 40 Assam Rifles D COY Chukitong, informed a press release.
The species distributed include Duabanga sonneratioides, Chukrasis tabularis, Parkia roxburghii, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia myriocarpa, Terminalia chebula, Pinus kesiya, Callistemon viminalis, Cassia fistula, Thuja compacta, Prunus nepalensis, Cephalotaxus sp., Alnus nepalensis, etc.
In addition to this, Wokha Forest Division also distributed over 30,000 saplings in total to different institutes, villages and NGOs for their plantation activities to mark the occasion. (Page News Service)
