Dimapur, December 21: Wicket Wizards Cricket Club defeated De-Legends CC in the final of the 2nd Trojans Trophy played at local ground, Zunheboto on December 20.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Wicket Wizards set a handsome target of 152 for De-Legends to chase in the stipulated 20 overs. The captain of the Wicket Wizards, Vinoka I Sumi, top scored with 35 runs, partnering with Kanato Aye who contributed 29 runs during their opening stand of 59 runs. Chasing the target, De-Legends CC were bundled out for 127.
The winning club received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a trophy; and the runner-up bagged a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Hutoho Kiba of De-Legends was declared the man of the tournament for his all-round performance; best bowler award was given to Bablu Qureshi of Wicket Wizards club, Nihuto of De-Legends club was adjudged best fielder and the man of the final match was bagged by Vinoka I Sumi of Wicket Wizards club.
The tournament, which was kept suspended for three days by the organizers in solidarity with Oting people, re-commenced on December 11. (Page News Service)
