Dimapur, April 25: The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) has appealed to the Sumi and the Zeliang communities to refrain from further provocation in connection with the land dispute at Dimapur-Peren border.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the WCH urged the two communities to allow the government to look for a solution.
“We request both communities to look beyond emotions to bring about peaceful coexistence. The government of the day must come up with the will and action to judiciously resolve this issue at earliest to prevent further undue situations. Yielding to pressures from both parties will only complicate matters. Therefore, what is impartial and lawful must be maintained. The Hoho further convey to the State Government to compensate for the 3 lives lost,” it added.
