Weekly sample positivity rate decline to 4.5% from 6.5%

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 19: Nagaland is seeing a decline in number of new reported cases of COVID-19 for the past 3 weeks. The number of cases reported this week (Feb.12-18) was 223, along with 3 deaths.
The weekly sample positivity rate has also declined to 4.5% from 6.5% the previous week. Only Wokha District reported a weekly sample positivity rate of more than 10%.
A total of 5,002 samples were tested last week in the State.
Out of the 223 new cases, 185 (83%) cases were detected from self-test/random test, 20 (9%) from travelers, 10 (4%) from frontline workers, 6 (3%) from traced contacts and 2 (1%) from security/armed forces.
According to the weekly COVID-19 bulletin issued by the State Health Department, new COVID-19 hospital admissions have also shown a decline for the past 3 weeks. Eleven new admissions were recorded from COVID-19 hospitals this week.
Meanwhile 15.22 Lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the State, including 67,363 doses in children between 15-18 years of age.
