Wearing face mask mandatory in Kohima: KMC

Dimapur, July 1: KMC Administrator Kovi Meyase has reminded the general public of Kohima town that the use of face masks and social distancing is mandatory and also spitting in public places is strictly prohibited. It cautioned that any individual found violating this will be penalized.
For spitting in public places, a fine of Rs 100 will be imposed for first offense and Rs 200 for second offense. As per MHA guidelines, violation will be punishable under Disaster Management Act Section 51(b).
For not wearing face mask, Rs 100 will be fined for first offense and Rs 200 thereafter.
On failure to follow social distancing, Rs 100 fined for first offense and Rs 200 thereafter.

Wet market & slaughter houses
Informing that there have been instances of transmission of corona virus through wet market and slaughter houses especially those dealing with fresh meat, poultry and raw fishes in other parts of the world, the KMC directed all wet markets and slaughter houses within its jurisdiction to collect all the waste or fluid in a proper designated place and sanitize the same. They are also asked to operate as per the FSSAI guidelines
The KMC warned that any traders violating the norms or guidelines will be penalized Rs 500 for first offense; and Rs 1000 for second offense followed by cancellation of trade license.
