WC NNPGs, KNO signs pact

Dimapur, January 19: The Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) and the Kuki National Organization (KNO) have agreed to work together closely in resolving all difference through democratic political process.
In a joint declaration signed on January 10, 2020 at Imphal by WC NNPGs convenor N Kitovi Zhimomi and KNO president PS Haokip the two organizations agreed that the history and identity of one is respected by the other, now and in the future.
The joint declaration issued to the media on January 19 said in the principle of harmonious peaceful co-existence, NNPGs and KNO shall from time to time, appraise each other on issues potentially having socio-political ramifications for one community or the other during the course of negotiation for political settlement and peace talks with the Union of India.
The joint declaration was made after thorough deliberations on the contentious political, social and inter-community matters prevailing for decades, particularly in Manipur State, it said. (Page News Service)
