Dimapur, February 8: The Working Committee, NNPGs has condemned the attack on NSCN (R) by Indian Security Forces in Arunachal Pradesh.
“On one hand there is a serious political dialogue between GOI and WC, NNPGs in New Delhi, in which NSCN (R) is an important partner. On the other hand, the Indian security forces in Naga areas under Arunachal Pradesh appeared to be oblivious of the effort of two entities to resolve the protracted Indo-Naga political issue,” it said in a statement.
The WC said on January 11, 2019, the Indian security forces attacked NSCN (R) camp at Kenon village, and on January 27 attacked another camp at Shallang village. “And it is reported that ambush occurs frequently and peaceful atmosphere is being disturbed by Indian security forces. The ongoing political negotiations between GOI and Nagas must be respected by men in uniform,” it said.
The WC, NNPGs demanded that provocative actions must be stopped immediately “because military aggression over the decades did not solve the Naga question.” (Page News Service)
