WAYF opens helpline number

Nagaland News

Dimapur, February 26: The Western Ao Youth Federation (WAYF) opened a helpline number 8974851911 for any of its community members to report instances of coercion or intimidation while voting.
In a press release, the group asserted that voting is not only a constitutional right but also one of the highest duties of a citizen in any democratic society.
“As Nagaland gears up for this democratic exercise, the Western Ao Youth Federation (WAYF) would like to appeal to all likeminded citizens to exercise their franchise in electing the right representative who will be the voice of the people. Every eligible voter should perform their bounden duty to prevent proxy voting and ensure clean election”, it stated.
The group also appealed to all citizens to ensure free and fair election and that no law and order situation is created. “Based on the principles of Clean Election Movement as envisioned by our apex Church body NBCC, we remind every voter to vote by their freewill and their conscience”, it stated.
