Dimapur, July 16: The Wancho Region of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim has condoled the untimely demise of 3 Wancho national workers, Pangang Gangsa (Sergeant) on May 25 last, Tenwang Wangsa and Acham Wangsu (both Razou Peyus) on July 11 last in two separate incidences. The three unarmed national workers were arrested and later killed in fake encounters after giving third degree torture by the 16th Assam Rifles personnel under the command of Major KB Singh, the NSCN (IM) alleged.
Stating that the sentiments of the Wancho Region national workers are deeply hurt by the atrocities committed by the Indian Army through the Assam Rifles, it condemned the colonial act of human rights violation by the 16th Assam Rifles.
Despite such an inhuman nature of the Assam Rifles, the Wancho national workers continue to uphold the principle of the ongoing peace process between the NSCN and Government of India, the MIP said in a press release.
The Wancho Region of the GPRN further saluted the martyred national workers who were men of standards.
The Region conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends and prayed to the Almighty God to give them solace during this time of sorrow.
