Dimapur, March 16: With the objective of lifting the living standard of rural villages especially those villages, which are economically and educationally behind others, the ward adoption committee for Kenezou colony under the 10th Northern Angami-I A/C organized a distribution of rice and sugar programme for the least privileged section of the ward with the theme “We Care” at Kenezou colony Kohima on March 15.
The programme was organized and sponsored under the chairmanship of 10th Northern Angami-I A/C MLA, Khriehu Liezietsu keeping in line with the Kohima DPDB yearlong activities.
During the programme, a short meeting with the colony elders and the identified beneficiaries was held where the identified beneficiaries including the oldest members in the colony along with the physically challenged members and the widows of the Kenezou colony were provided with rice and sugar.
Convener of the ward adoption committee, Shaying Sheu informed that the main idea of organizing the programme was to identify the poorest of the poor members in the colony and to make them feel at par with the rest of the colony members and also to spread the message that ‘we do care for them’. The committee extended its gratitude to the colony people for their active participation in various programme initiated by the committee and also thanked them for their supports rendered towards the DPDB’s activities carried out so far despite of the difficulties faced by them.
