Dimapur, November 15: A day marking childhood was celebrated by Vivekananda Welfare Foundation with fun and fervor at Ebenezer orphanage home, Indisen village, Tongti Kiong, Dimapur on November 14. This day which is also the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India is celebrated as a tribute to him.
Vivekananda Welfare Foundation under the guidance of the chief functionary of Ebenezer Orphanage Home, Dimapur organized a special food packets for the children and an extravaganza filled with music , dance and some fun filled activities. Children were elated to see the member of Vivekananda Welfare Foundation celebrating the day with them with zeal and enthusiasm. The children enjoyed the food sweets , juice, and fruits to their fullest. There was a cake cutting ceremony too where children enjoyed the most. The children expressed their excitement as this came as a pleasant surprise to them.
The programme began with a prayer, blessings and greetings of Diwali by the Chief Functionary of Ebenezer, Akum who also extended his heartfelt thanks to Team VWF.
He also wished on behalf of all the children a very Happy Birthday to the birthday boy, Pankaj Debnath and wished for his bright future and good health. All the Youth members of VWF also took some moment to wish him and prayed for him for his well being and success.
Niranjan Saha, the President of Vivekananda Welfare Foundation urged the children to be pure as they are now and work hard to achieve their goals. He shared some words on the significance of 14th November briefly and wished them a very Happy Children’s Day.
He added that the motto of Vivekananda Welfare Foundation is to serve the humanity irrespective of caste, creed, sex, religion and community and serving the children of God with whatever way possible is one of the best deed ever in this world.
