VWF Dimapur observes National Youth Day


Dimapur, January 14: Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Dimapur observed National Youth Day which marks the birthday of one of the greatest monks and youth Icon of India of all times, Swami Vivekananda in front of a modest gathering at the local Durga Mandir Auditorium. Vivekananda Welfare Foundation was established on January 12, 2015 and on January 12, 2020, VWF completed 5th year of charitable services and philanthropic activities towards humanity.
It observed its 5th Foundation day along with National Youth Day Celebration by distributing fruits and juice to all the patients of Dimapur District Hospital (Civil Hospital), Dimapur after 1st session of the programmer. The Special Guest on the occasion was DC Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi IAS , the guest of honour was Swadesh Ranjan Goswami from Kolkata who is National Addl Secretary General of Bharat Vikas Parishad.
The meeting was chaired by Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Sr. Adviser of VWF. After the felicitation of dignitaries and heads of different Samaj of Dimapur , ceremonial lighting of the lamp was done and floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Swamiji by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
Two youths namely Tripty Sharma of Living Stone Foundation International, Dimapur and Sangrila Majumder, Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur gave short speeches on Swamiji and his works among the youths of India, Ripesh Roy recited one poem.
The classical dance performance by another youth member Reya Dey mesmerized the audience. Another two youth members Arijit Sharma and Sujan Dey sang a beautiful duet song.
In between two short speeches were given by Rajkumar Chowdhury , Patron of VWF and Arup Dasgupta, executive member of VWF.
The guest of honour.Goswami narrated the importance of National Youth Day.
Chief Guest, Anoop Khinchi dwelt upon the teachings of Swamijee especially his advices to the youths of the country.
The chairperson in his speech emphasized on channeling the youth power of the country towards nation building. The programme ended with the VWF Anthem sung by the members of VWF. (Page News Service)
