Vikheho reviews COVID-19 preparedness in Pughoboto

Dimapur, April 18: MLA of 13 Pughoboto A/C, Y Vikheho Swu visited Pughoboto on April 17 to take stock about the preparedness of the COVID-19 in Pughoboto sub division. During the visit, a meeting with the district administration, police, medical, food & civil supplies and representatives from NGOs was convened at the office of the ADC Pughoboto.
In the meeting, Dr. Hokugha Sema, SMO Pughoboto gave a report about the sub division which has a Community Health Centre at Pughoboto town. He said a quarantine centre and an isolation ward (with two beds and oxygen facility) have been set up in Pughoboto with the assistance from the district administration. However some improvements need to be done as and when some funds are allotted to the CHC Pughoboto.
The MLA along with the officers also paid a visit to the CHC.
The Food & Civil Supplies Department informed that as far as food grains are concerned the subdivision is in a comfortable position till date. Transportation may be a problem with the onset of the rains and if the lockdown extends, it was informed.
SDPO Pughoboto, Tizhi Pojar appraised that three 24×7 check posts have been set up in the sub division since March 26 and all inter district movement of vehicles are restricted except for medical emergency and essential commodities.
He informed that no protective gears for the police have been provided against COVID19 except surgical masks and sanitizers. Food and water for the police team manning the check posts are borne by the jawans themselves, as no fund/assistance have been received from the Government till date.
ADC Pughoboto, Moa Lemtor informed that all logistics are in place and the district administration is doing every possible step to execute the orders and directives of the Government. (Page News Service)
