Dimapur, November 8: Nagaland today defeated Meghalaya by 8 runs in the ongoing Vijay Merchant Trophy and qualified from the Northeast Group for the All India Knock out stage.
Nagaland had won.3 matches, lost 1 match and drew 1 match in the league stage to qualify for the All India knock out stage.
Earlier winning the toss and electing to bat, Nagaland were all out at 113 in 42 overs in their first innings, with Sravan scoring 55 and Keduowhetuo 20 runs.
Nirdesh of Meghalaya had claimed 10 wickets.
In their first innings, Meghalaya were all out at 148 in71.3 overs with Nirdesh and Ayushman scoring 68 and 24 runs respectively.
For Nagaland, Keduowhetuo had claimed 4 wickets while Sravan and Rihan took 2 wickets each.
In the second innings, Nagaland were all out at 111 in 53.2 overs with Savlin and Sravan scoring 31 and 30 runs respectively.
For Meghalaya, Nirdesh claimed 5 wickets and Bharat 4.
In their second innings, Meghalaya were all out at paltry 68 in 31.4 overs with Avinash and Nirdesh contributing 19 and 17 runs respectively.
