Dimapur, March 16: The Village Guards Association of Nagaland (VGAN) has called off its proposed total strike on March 19&20 with immediate effect following an emergency meeting with the Commissioner and ex-officio Commandant General, Village Guards, Nagaland.
The VGs had called the total strike in protest against the State Government’s non-revision of pay and allowance to the Village Guards. The strike was to be enforced in the districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak, Meluri and Phek.
VGAN informed that today’s emergency meeting was attended by representatives from VG Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire, Longleng and Meluri.
