Dimapur, February 24: The valedictory function of the Nagaland Civil Service Probationers 2019 batch was held at the multipurpose hall, ATI, Kohima on February 19.
Director General, ATI R. Binchilo Thong, IAS, congratulated the NCS officer trainees of 2019 batch for the successful completion of a yearlong training at ATI, Kohima. He encouraged the outgoing officers to be role models for the younger generation, the society and to development the state besides law and order.
He encouraged the young officers to practice transparency and accountability especially while dealing with PDS and other government supplies/works and requested them to sign papers only after execution of works. He also cautioned the young officers to abstain from corruption and malpractices because with the advancement in technology one can be easily caught and penalized. In decision making, he advised them to take into account the decision that will benefit the public in general and not vice versa.
On a positive note, he said that initial posting in rural areas is a blessing as one gets first hand information besides dealing with real life situations. He also emphasized the need to check VDBs account and works executed on monthly basis besides initiating the poverty stricken people to be enlisted in the BPL list for availing their due share. He wished the outgoing officer trainees success and the very best in their future endeavour.
The programme was chaired by L. Youdang Jamir, Additional Director (Trg.) with a brief course report presented by Dr. Alem W. Longchar, Course Coordinator. A special number was presented by the outgoing officers. Short speech was delivered by Orenthung Kikon, NCS (P). The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Kaholi Sema, Deputy Director (Trg.).
