DIMAPUR, MARCH 4: Mon District Task Force for administration of Covid-19 vaccination held a meeting on March 3 at the dc’s conference room. The meeting was chaired by DC, Mon, Thavaseelan K.
In a presentation, Dr. Mheche Mero highlighted that a total of 62 sessions had been conducted in Mon. A total of 1429 healthcare workers registered, out of which 755 healthcare workers have been administered the first dose and 406 administered with the second dose.
Also, 4064 frontline workers registered, out of which 1577 had been administered with the first dose. The meeting deliberated on getting the number of vaccinated HCWs and FLWs higher and also discussed ways to make the Block Task Forces more efficient and proactive.
With the third phase of vaccination presently underway, the meeting deliberated on ways to reach out to the targeted age-group and reduce hesitancy. Members of the board also acknowledged Executive Secretary KBBB and President Konyak Union for being the first two persons to take the vaccine in the 3rd phase and stressed on the role played by such faith-based leader and community leaders to reach out to the general public.
District Immunization Officer, Dr. Shasinle Tep stated that presently there are four Covid vaccination centres operating in the district namely: i) District Hospital Mon ii) Aboi CHC iii) Tobu CHC and iv) Tizit PHC operating four days in a week.
For better coverage of the 3rd phase in rural areas, the service of NSRLM will be utilized. Workers under NSRLM will be trained by the medical team for sensitisation about the vaccine and collection of data. In urban areas, there will be ward wise sensitisation drives by the district administration in collaboration with the medical team. (Page News Service)
