Dimapur, June 18: Department of Commerce, Unity College Dimapur organised a talk on “Women Entrepreneurship in Nagaland: Challenges of being a Women Entrepreneur” on June 15.
The talk was organised with an objective to encourage entrepreneurial spirit and to give a platform for the students to meet and interact with the women entrepreneurs in Nagaland. The resource persons for the event were Bethel Tsuzu, Director, Mountain Music Academy and Moanaro Longkumer, Managing Director, Mentor Academy.
In her talk Bethel Tsuzu spoke on why she got into business in spite of being a musician. Passion, frustration for scarcity and timely availability of products and the need for money were the three reasons that made her become an entrepreneur.
She shared her experiences and challenges and encouraged the students to be passionate and to never give up.
Moanaro Longkumer also spoke about her personal challenges and issues faced as a woman entrepreneur. She also spoke about the various entrepreneurial opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Nagaland and summed up her talk by advising the students to be confident and be their own boss.
