Under-17 football coaching camp concludes


Dimapur, August 14: The Under-17 football coaching camp organized by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports in collaboration with ‘Soccer Competition’ concluded today at IG Stadium, Kohima.
Commissioner & Secretary Department of YR&S, Anenla S. Longchari, IAS urging the trainees, asked them not to give up on what they have learnt from the coaching and to practice hard “the seeds which are sown will bear fruits.”
She said that those who got the chance to attend the coaching camp are very lucky because many young boys and girls didn’t get the chance. She mentioned that Nagas have talents but due to lack of infrastructure and other facilities we are not able to reach our potentials.
Sebastian, who coached the youngsters, is a UEFA registered Grade-A coach specializing in working with athletes under 18. He has previously worked in clubs such as Karnby IK and FC Rosengard and has also been associated with Sporting Lisbon, and is currently working in Sweden. He is a member of ‘Soccer Competition’, a German based scouting and agent Company that specializes in scouting young talent.
Joint Secretary, Department of YR&S, Limawapang chaired the program, while vote of thanks was proposed by Additional Director YR&S, Rato Pusa.
Altogether 78 participations from 11 districts attended the coaching camp out of which 29 were girls. (Page News Service)
