ULFA-I claims joint responsibility for Aboi ambush


Dimapur, June 18: After the NSCN (K) claimed responsibility for Sunday’s ambush on Assam Rifles at Aboi, the United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa-Independent) today came out claiming joint responsibility for the ambush along with the NSCN (K).
In an emailed statement, Major Arunudoy Asom, assistant information & publicity secretary, ULFA-I claimed that “in pursuance of the truth and common cause of liberation and to enhance the progress for the National Liberation Movement of WESEA,” the ULFA-I and the NSCN (K) undertook a joint military operation “against the common enemy India,” and a joint team attacked the 40 Assam Rifles and 164 TA (Naga) Bn of Indian Security
Forces near Tenyak River, about 2 kms away from Aboi town under Mon district.
“In this attack the joint team killed four soldiers and injured six or more and were able to recover some guns and weapons,” the statement claimed.
The ULFA-I and the NSCN (K) expressed gratitude to the joint team for “their bravery action” against Indian security forces. (Page News Service)
