Dimapur, July 9: The Department of History, English and Political Science of Unity College Dimapur jointly organized ‘A talk on Naga Customary Laws: A case study of Sumi Chieftanship and the tradition of establishing new villages’.
The program was chaired by Tongpang Walling, Asst Professor, Dept of English. Dr Lichumo Enie, Principal, Unity College encouraged the students to look back at our roots and learn the customs and traditions that governed the Naga way of life.
Kahuto Chishi, resource person, spoke at length about migration in Sumi context, the concept of Sumi chief and the tradition of establishing new villages.
This was followed by an interactive session with the students and faculties. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Amongla, Asst Professor, Dept of political science.
