Dimapur, September 20: The Tenyimi Youth Organization of Dimapur (TYOD) has demanded an inquiry into the unfortunate rockslide on September 19 that damaged the Nagaland welcome gate and a vehicle, as well as release compensation for the damage caused to individual and public property without delay.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, the TYOD reminded that it had earlier submitted a representation to the DC Dimapur warning about carrying out landmine explosion on the old road of the National Highway will cause blockage of the NH and endanger the life of commuters. It stated that the surface cutting for widening the road is to be done from top to bottom and not from bottom to top “but just to save time and energy by the construction company/ contractors have grievously put the public life at high risk and creating untold misery”, which the public have started to witness.
Condemning the construction company, the TYOD demanded an enquiry into the matter by the District administration at the earliest and made its finding public.
TYOD warned that in case of failure to take corrective measures, the concerned construction company/contractors, engineer and the district administration shall be held responsible for all such untoward incident. (Page News Service)
