Dimapur, June 2: Along with the rest of the world, Tuensang District observed World No Tobacco Day on May 31 on the theme ‘Protecting youths’. The programme was organized by District Tobacco Control Cell Tuensang in collaboration with Frontier Re En-Bloc (F.R.E.E) Motor Cycle Club Tuensang.
During the awareness rally, District Nodal Officer (DTCC) Tuensang Dr N Chenithung Yanthan said the participants will spread knowledge of the effects of tobacco consumption amongst the youth and the prohibition of spitting in public places in general as a preventive measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 infections, etc.
District Nodal Officer (DTCC) thanked and appreciated the riders (Motor Cycle Club) for coming forward to support the fight against tobacco consumption in the district.
Around 15 riders along with the officers took part in the rally. Everyone who participated in the rally wore proper protective gears such as face mask and hand gloves and social distancing was also maintained during the rally, informed a release issued by Apheang, District Media Officer, Tuensang.
