Dimapur, February 19: The Tuensang District Planning and Development Board meeting was held in the DC’s conference hall Tuensang on February 17 under the chairmanship of Toshi Wungtung, chairman DPDB & Advisor for IPR, SCERT and VG. The meeting was also attended Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA.
Discussion on the deplorable condition of NH-202 dominated the meeting. Members were of the views that the most important road not only connects other states like Assam and Manipur, but also one of the most important roads for security and international relations that connects Myanmar. The house resolved to appeal to the DCs of Kiphire, Longleng and Mokochung to address a joint concern so that it can be reported to higher authorities.
The chairman appealed to the departments to write on the basic necessity urgently required so that the legislators on their visit to meet NITI Aayog will address for priority. The meeting resolved to reiterate the list of grievances that has been submitted to Multi Disciplinary Committee, Government of India to expedite the same and implement the grievances list of the four districts of Eastern part of Nagaland.
The House also discussed on waste management.
